an exhaust will set you back a bit of cash.. have to get one made as a custom job..
fuel pump will need uprating.
if you stay low presure (below 6psi) then you can just about get away with the standard internals but i would not reccomend it!
steel head gasket (and a thicker one too!) is needed really and the pistons will have to go and be swapped for some lower compression ones.
the timing will be a mess and so will the fuel maps so you will need a feul computer (about 240pound and upards)
the turbo can be anything you like. but i would go for one that is used on a similar sized engine. e.g the t28 from the nissan 200sx or even the t25's from a skyline.
an intercooler is a must too
an oil cooler
dump valve of some sort.
maybe some hotter cams to help deal with the power.
and you are gonna need a new ecu. either a totaly custom one or a modified one form a similar system.
plus all the other things like FPR, colder spark plugs, leads new air filter, maybe even a new clutch if the power gain is good.
if you do the work your self then it will cost a hell of a lot less!
but i would not expect to do a good job for less than £2500.
you may be able to get some of the stuff second hand and this will save you more money. but if you want someone else to do the work then you are going to have to double that figure!!
its a very nice mod to do. but if you cant do the work then it can be very expencive. it may be easier to save up a bit more money and get a turbo car!!
i'm just about to turbo a 33. but i'm doing the engine work myself. and i still think with second hand parts for a lot of it, it's gonna cost me about 1500-2000 pounds!
maybe an engine transplant with the ecu, turbo, etc etc would be a better way to go?
if life was easy, everyone would do it.
