Alfa 145 Mysterious Battery Drain....Suggestions???
For some reason my battery keeps going flat.. I have changed the battery with a newer one and it does the same...
When the batteries are left over night with nothing connected they hold their charge perfectly.. I have had them both on a trickle charge and they are working fine..
I connected my multimeter in series with the battery (+) and set it to dc amps.. It was pulling 2.0A with the engine off!! Which I find a little too high as it should be around .55mA (I read this in another post?) !!
I have checked the stereo and thats pulling .18mA when the ignition is off, so that eliminates that..
Im guessing whatever is draining the battery is around 24-25 watts (12.4v x 2.0A = 24.8w)
Its becoming a nucence as im having to jump start the car evey day!!
I pulled a large green fuse which is at the back of the engine bay (on the fire wall) and the current drops off when this fuse is removed, what does this fuse power - the main fuseboard in the car?! It must be something connected on this circuit...
I've also put a new alternator on which is working perfect (jumps straight upto 14.3v when the engine is on)
Has anyone get any ideas what could be drawing this much power?!
Or got a wiring diagram?
