Cover me...I'm going in!!!
Well, after a quick trip up to Derby I'm now the proud owner of a lovely red 1.8 16V on a P plate, with a genuine 43k on the clock...but a completely knackered engine!
So, it's time to get the spanners (and credit card) out, slip into a figure-hugging boiler suit (is that too much information?!) and camp out on the drive for a week changing it.
I was just wondering if anyone could impart any pearls of wisdom as to what to watch out for, any pitfalls to avoid (apart from starting the job in the first place!) and hopefully any labour-saving tricks or short cuts.
Oh, and I do have a replacement lump lined up, but if anyone knows of a good low-mileage 1.8 (or 2.0 for that matter) 16V lump going cheap, I haven't ordered it yet so the cash could be diverted into someone elses pocket...
