I want to replace the air filter on my Cloverleaf but I'm not sure what route to take.I've heard induction kits can sound better and maybe improve performance a bit but might have problems getting cold air. I've also heard you can get the same effect with a good quality panel filter and some modification to the air-box. Has anyone got any experience of either of the above and in particular what modifications are made to the air-box? Thanks.
I fitted a K&N panel filter to my 145 Cloverleaf recently and this did not require any modification whatsoever to the airbox and certainly improves performance and intake noise. Be careful when removing the bolts from the airbox though , they react with the with the metal sockets in the lower part and can seize solid, Three of mine broke when trying to remove them - replacement of the lower part of the airbox is the only solution (although not too expensive ).
If you do have problems with the bolts on the air box then the repair is easy enough. Providing you haven't broken off the plastic lugs you can set the brass 'nuts' in some strong glue like Super Steel or something similar.
