Towbar AND Clunking !

I can't locate anywhere that can sell me a towbar for my 146, most only list 156 and 147. Does anyone know if these use the same chasis layout etc ? Also do you know if they'll fit without any heavy modifications ?

Also, at very slow speed with the steering locked on raised bumps I can hear a *CLUNK* from the front. Brace or bush gone by the sounds of it, or is this another Alfa thing that's quite normal.

Cheers in advance.

155's suffer from the clunking and the cause is often the front wishbones. One way to check is to brake hard from speed, if the car wanders about its confirmed.

Dunno about the towbar, sorry. Perhaps check with the dealer?

I have a 96 ti that makes this clunking noise when driving over bad surfaces, haven't found the cause yet, must be some bushings dying down there. Let us know what you find ?

Clunking could be the wishbones or it could be the strut bearings (the plastic disk that supports the spring and alows it to turn when turning) you can check it by getting a friend to rotate the steering wheel while you look under the front wheel-arch if the spring judders or jumps, thats the source of your clunk.
They only cost a few quid.
Hope this helps.
