That's right, my car has Eibach springs with 17" wheels, tyre size: 205/40/17.
i originally had Goodyear F1 GS-D2 tyres fitted, which rubbed on the rear arches, somtimes if you were driving quickly on a bumpy road, you could hear the arches rub and smell the rubber... had to refuse to give people lifts in the back, my girlfriend had a laugh saying her mini cooper could carry more people.
I had to remove the plastic trim around the rear arches, but still had the problem.
When the tyres were due to be changed, I opted for Yoko A539 - and by magic??? no more rubbing, even with people in the back...
The Yokos seem to be positioned away from the wheel edge, not over the wheel edge like most tyres...</strong><hr /></blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">well same here
