HELP! alloys

I have just fitted a set of black speedline alloys ( from 155) on to my 1993 164 ts and had to put spacers on the back wheels to stop the wheels rubbing off the shocks. Is this safe and will this affect the cars handling and balance. Any help would be welcome.

cheers bret

If the spacers increase the offset of the wheels to the same as the standard wheels for your car then there shouldnt be any problem. afaik

The only time i have seen a problem is when the wheel nuts are not quite long enough to safely screw into the hub, ie. when excessivly wide spacers are used.

Thanks for that. The spacers are about 5mm thick and the studs seem to go into the hub ok. I've had the wheels on for a few weeks and the studs hav'nt come loose. I heard about offsets and that was why i was worried about putting the wheels on.

I help another member source the same wheels for the same car (can't remember his nickname) & he fitted 5mm spacers, that was ayear ago & no problems so far (as far as I know)

Not a great answer but it's the best I can do wink
