Guess what i did today
Well actuactly i started yestoday
Boy oh boy have i had fun today....
I got some Eibach springs for my 146.
I thought they would be easy to change. WRONG!!
4 hours to change the rears, (couldnt get the damn spring compressors on properly. (there isnt enought room to mount them on the spring)
Then on the front i removed one of the shock's, and then realised that you need a special tool to undo the nut on the top of the strut. (you needs a ratchet with a hole in it so then you can hold the strut with the allen key and then undo the nut)
I had to put it back on the car again, and drive to a garage and get them to undo them with a air wrench. (too all of 30 secs)
I then had to drive home with out the nut's on the struts. (i needed a change of underware after that)
I could then remove the shocks again and change the springs.
Once i un-jacked the car i looked at it and it must have lowered it a lot more then 30mm.
My rears seem to rub when i go round corners fast but i might be able to fit some bump stops that will stop the car dipping too low.
If you are going to change the springs on your car yourself, then invest in a air impact wrence, I got one just as i started to work on the last shock and i managed to finnish it in 30 mins.
