Just had a look,
The light switch is controlled by the boot latch/lock mechanism.
Look at the light… if you then push the lock catch on the boot (as the boot has closed and the lock had closed) The light (should) turn off, unlock it again (either key or glovebox switch – it doesn’t matter) and the light comes back on.
I haven’t taken the panel off covering the internals of the boot lid but I would guess there to be some cabling going to and from the lock… probably a wee switch too (maybe not)
If there’s nothing obvious like a brocken cable or sommit, just check and unplug all the wiring to the lock area and give it a clean the assemble it again.
