155 rear wheel bearings

Hi all.

I appologise for the earlier mishap. (not awake yet)

I have a problem with the rh rear wheel bearing, it's noisy.

The car has 1/4million km's on the odo and the front bearings have been replaced already.

ALFISSIMO here in good old SA tells me there is a problem at the factory and I am getting desperate.

Has anyone changed this component before or perhaps tried to modify it?

Nothing like a crisis to bring out the best in people...

Hi Hennie

i'm told you cant buy the bearings on their own, you have to get the complete hub. Its about 80GBP. (feel free to correct me on this anyone!!)

Whats the problem at the factory? Havent they got any bearings?

You cannot replace just the bearing it has to be the hub, its the same story for the fronts.#
Because the bearings are frozen and the hubs are heated when they are fitted together.... you will never be able to remove them.

If you were in the UK we could supply these.

Ciao for now

Thank you wrinx and AO.

The problen seems to be a factory supply shortage.

I was also told to replace the complete hub. This I do not have a problem with ( you wanna drive it...)

The cost I can live with, roughly the equivalent to GBP.80 maybe some shipping cost added.

It is in times like this that I want to sell my 3 alfa's and go for any no-name brand transport appliance...

AO I will give my people your contact details. If we don't come right my people will contact your people.

Now the next Q.
Is it a huge mission to change the thing or can I do it myself? I am an Aircraft Mechanic.

Many thanx for the prompt replies!!

I find my ALFA'S to be very reliable.
The most difficult thing I had to change is the Key ring!
A very difficult and emotional experience

I changed the Alfa badge for the Serpent.
The badge was scratched and worn...
