Have a quick read through the previous threads here. the dashboard creek is so far unsolvable, (Aisha wants me to rip my dash out to find the source! [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img])
As for what tyre's to use, that's a bit difficult to say. I run 14" & have found yokohama to be very good, if a bit quick wearing, Bridgestones are great in the wet, Firestones lasted the longest.
but seen as your's is a cloverleaf, I'll let the QV owner's answer that one for you.
As for brakes I've recently put 6 groove Red Dot disks & pads on. They need some heat in them to give their full potential, so the first couple of times you use them in the morning they feel a little soft but once you stop 2/3 times they are great. well worth the money. If I did it again I'd go for the 12 or more groove disks..they look better
Get the timing belt done at 50,000 miles max 72,000 is too long to leave it. better safe than sorry. As for your Variator, does it sound like a diesel on startup ? if not your variator is fine. But check you oil every week & keep it topped up the top marker.
