I don't know if i'm putting this in the right forum however:
I've just had an absolute night-mare of a morning ringing round various garages in Lincolnshire looking for answers as to why my 145 wouldn't start.
It ran for about 3 seconds and then cut out. No warning lights on the dash board, no odd noises from the engine, just turning over but not catching.
Had lots of suggestions about no compression, dodgy spark plugs, knackered carb etc, etc.
Then someone told me of an Italian Car specialist in Lincoln, gave them a ring and they immediately suggested pressing in the fuel cut off valve under the front passenger seat as sometimes they can trip from a hard slamming door or adjusting the front seat too vigorously - and lo and behold, the engine works
So give this a try next time you can't get the engine started, it may just be something that simple. Many thanks to Chris at Italian Car Specialists in Lincoln.
