Hmmm Restricted acceleratrion

Has anybody else who owns a 145 got a bolt screwed onto the underside of their accelerator pedal?

I noticed it on mine today (not had the Alfa long).

It looks to be adjustable and i'm wondering that if I remove it will it mean that i'll be able to accelerate faster, and reach a higher top speed than is already achievable?

It looks as if it was put on there to limit acceleration and I don't want to remove it if it means over-revving and damaging my engine.

Any body know why it's there?

Re: Restricted acceleratrion

Dont remove or adjust the bolt unless you are not getting full throttle opeing of the throttle body on the engine intake. This is where you need to check.

Try pushing the accelerator as far as it will go and place something on it to hold it there. Then have a look in the engine bay and see if the throttle body is fully activated and that you cannot manually rotate it more.
You'll probably find its set right, I've never had to adjust one unless the cable was replaced.
