Tyres not wheel bearing
I decided to replace my tyres over the weekend. My 155 was fitted with Avon ZZ-1's when I bought it 12 months ago. The dry handling was good, but downright scary in the wet. After doing a bit of surfing I decided to go for Bridgestone RE720's (£370 for 4 from Budget, 205/45/16).
As expected the car now grips much better in the wet, but interestingly the "ooing" noise from my front wheel has gone. I could only hear this noise on smooth tarmac at motorway speeds, and had been bracing myself for the cost of one or more wheel bearings.
A rare pleasant suprise.
BTW, don't bother with tyres-sold-online - right bunch of time wasters.
