Help Clutch help needed

The 145s been sat for 4 days and it seems like the clutch cable has snapped.

The pedal goes straight to the floor and stays there unless I pull it up with my foot. The brake fluid is all where it should be and I there is still a rod connected to the pedal that gets at least as far as the front bulkhead.

Is this the clutch cable and where does it run after coming out of the bulkhead? Any quick fixes? It's booked in for a service on Wednesday so it only needs to be a temporary one.

Re: Clutch help needed

check your slave cylinder. if this goes your pedal goes. its easy to replace and not expensive.

Re: Clutch help needed

there is no clutch cable, its all hydraulic, so either there is fluid over your engine bay or an internal seal has gone. As suggested the slave cylinder is the main suspect. It sits on tip of the gearbox, just above the battery.

I hope you get it sorted soon mate. it does sound like a dodgy slave cylinder.
Just out of interest, How many miles have you done in it since you bought it from me?

Re: Clutch help needed

Prize for the first correct diagnosis goes to oskiee6! Slave cylinder replaced and it's back up and running again.

@Simon: It's just hit 84K now so only 8K since i bought it from you, not been used too much really, but my commute is about to get much bigger so I'm probably going to sell it rather than run it into the ground.
