Exhaust bracket help

Hello all,

Right I've been try to rectify some of my Alfas issues.

For a while the exhaust has been hanging too low. This has caused me to compress one of the pipes.

It turns out it is down to the front most mount. It had popped out of position. But could somebody confirm that the mount just pushs into position and isn't fixed? It seems a bad design. Please see the photos.

Also does anybody know where i can get a reasonable priced replacement.

Yes i think that rubber mount presses into the hole i see in the 2nd photo. I have a similar issue with mine, its still pressed in but broken up and just holding.

I did see a complete bracket and mount on ebay a while back but at nearly 30 i passed.

Measure the o/d of the bush and see if you can get a replacement - thats what I'd do if i could be bothered to .....

Jack car up
Remove bracket
press old bush out
measure it
press it back in
replace
buy new and repeat above

some say that bracket is not needed but as I have a poorly fitted s/s system its a bit critical on mine. I also had new downpipes fitted which are also a bit poor dimensionally and are low and slightly the wrong angle and the clamp fitting doesnt fit it. the ones you have look original ....still looks like its saving your sump!

Hmmm my last one died of sump failure! I'll try to avoid that again.

Thanks for the reply. I think there must be something missing from mine as the runner bush is far smaller than the hole so it can rattle out. I was hoping to get it sotted before I replaced that section of exhaust.

Thanks again
