146 runs ok cold, cuts out at idle when warm
I have a problem with my 146TI (2001). The car runs ok on short trips, i.e. before it warms up. However, once it's warmed up, it cuts out when the engine drops back to idle, e.g. stopping at lights, and won't restart again until it's cooled. No warning lights, maybe an occasional stutter when it's being driven warm.
I did have the car booked in at Caledonia Manchester for Monday and limped down there on Sunday night while it was quiet but they've cancelled all workshop work - sounds like there's some sort of takeover going on. So I've limped back home again.
When the problem first happened, I was towed by the AA and they told me that I needed to get it onto an Alfa analyser to determine the problem. I guess my question is whether this is something that a non-Alfa garage could fix, or do I need to get to another Alfa dealer? I could do without paying for a recovery at the moment.
Any help or advice would be very welcome.
