Looky Looky CV joint damage

I was changing wishbones and the shaft popped out of the outer CV joint. After not being able to get it back in right away I undid the boot and discovered a part had cracked off. So I removed the debris and tried to put it back together, but it seems impossible to get all the ball bearings back in!
I managed to get 4/6 balls back in and put it together. New joint is ordered and I wont drive till it arrives.
My question now is that is it OK to drive to the garage 1 minute away with the joint in it's current condition!

Thanks for any help.

Yeah, the worst that will happen is it breaks and you loose drive. just go easy no hard acceleration and avoid engine braking
