hi all, some nice kind man pulled out in front of me using no indication or nothing and drove straight into the side of me. . The shock of the inpack went up the corner post holding the glass in and made the roof ripple. the only other damage to the car was from passenger side door to the corner of the bumper. I have brought a alfa romeo GTV to replace her.

Sorry to hear about you 145 being destroyed by the way.

I'm interested in the exhaust if you still have it depending on price but also have a couple of questions first:-
  1. How many silencer boxes does it have?
  2. How loud is it compared to the original exhaust?
  3. What style tailpipe does it have? (oval, round, twin etc.)

Please also send me a PM with what sort of price you are looking for and where abouts in Wiltshire you are located.

Cheers.

Hi all, Mike those other parts that you asked for I sorry but do not have as it was the passenger side that was hit Pay pal sounds good to me. I think its the best way to do any transaction. If you could send me details through me private email part at would be good. What do you mean by does it have the plastic top? As far as the exhaust goes it has two boxes mid way and by the outlet as you can see in the pictures. When i asked long life exhausts to fit me the exhaust I described to them how I wanted it to sound 'only hear it going through the revs and have a loverly rasp. I came out exactly that. :0. It sounds amazing no drowning when cruising along. It has the two boxes and they call it a mid sport range. The sport range is where you will hear all the noise. I live in Malmesbury and would except £155 for it.

Many Thanks James

Hi James,

Please consider the exhaust sold to me. I just need to find a good time to come and collect which will need to be on a weekend but that might not be for a couple of weekends due to other commitments I currently have. Please can you send me a private message with your address, email address and/or other contact details so we can then arrange a convenient time for collection.

Many thanks.

James...I just tried to send you a PM but your inbox is full. Can you please clear some space so I can send you a PM and/or let me know what your email address is instead.

Can possibly also measure the diameter of the pipe at the slip-on joints sections and let me know the measurement so I can then get some new U-clamps ordered of the correct size in preparation for fitting it.

Cheers.

Does your beast have the facelift interior? I'm after the chrome interior door handles so I can dump my nasty black plastic (pre-facelift) ones.

Hi James,

Nice to meet you last weekend. We didn't see you at Castle Combe but spotted your GTV parked on the corner of the chicane on our way out. We were parked much further up round the track.

Just to let you know that I fitted the exhaust on Sunday and it sounds great The extra noise did take a little while to get used to and I have to admit that it was quite a bit louder than I was expecting (maybe the bigger 2 litre engine along with the sound deadening tar matting removed from under my carpet in the rear footwells makes it louder than it was on your 1.6) but I guess that's just because I've been used to the fairly civilised sounding OEM system for so long. Was a bit worried the wife would start complaining but to my surprise she said she can live with the extra noise I love the burble you get when caning it and then coming back of the throttle which sounds fantastic Never got that with the OEM system. I'm glad that I've finally got a "proper" exhaust system on my car

I also couldn't believe how heavy the OEM system was compared to the Longlife one, so as well as maybe releasing a few more horses I've managed to shed a load of extra weight

Was a pleasure doing business with you and thanks again

I won't be posting on this forum any more. If you want to know why and/or you want answers to some 145/146 related questions then please feel free to pop over to and post on the alfa145.com forum where you will find me with the same member name.

I have now disabled all my private messaging options on here but you can PM me over on the alfa145.com forum if you need to.
