front subframe

My 145's first mot failure. Rust hole in the front subframe and two wobbly wishbones any idea of cost to repair would be most helpful. (It will have to be a garage job I'm afraid, health and age not on my side)

Re: front subframe

Depending on where you are I may be able to help, The subframe new is around £350 plus labour, but second hand I'd recon on about £100 plus fitting, the wishbones can be picked up for £70 a pair and while it's all apart I'd recommend anti roll bar bushes and drop links too. Say 6 hours abour and your probably at around £400 all in.

Re: front subframe

Garage that failed it wanted £536 to do the repair job and I had to supply the subframe. I got a secondhand subframe for £60 and my local village mechanic did all the work and charged me £130, so I'm up and running again.
