146ti under front bumper

the 146ti front bumper sits quite low to the floor. I have seen there is a rubber strip lip. On my newly aquired 146ti the rubber strip was torn in 2 places which is ok so I have put a small amount of black gaffa tape on it to keep it nice and straight.
However I know it is a matter of time till the tape rips due to speed bumps in the area.

Is there anything that can be put under the front bumper (in front of the rumper) to protect the paint as I think the car marginally scraps going up my drive?

Or is gaffa tape a short term sensible option?

Take the rubber off completely, it'll fall off anyway.

Re: 146ti under front bumper

You're lucky to keep the bumper let alone the strip. We have speed "mountains" here in places and car parks with kerbs to mark out the spaces designed as anti 146 defences.

Re: 146ti under front bumper

If you look under the front bumper of most 145's & 146's you will find in a lot of cases for cars that are driven in the UK, the underside of the bumper will be a mess with scratched paint or gouges taken out of the plastic. It seems to be worse on the facelifts which have an even lower front bumper. Not a lot you can really do except raise the car but then it would look stupid.
