Mooney RED light on Dashboard

Hi
Ive just bought a 146 for my wife but it has the red airbag light on dash board, been to garage who say I need a new ECU. I looked through the 146 manual and I have the Becker type. This looks like you can do some sort of test with beeps. Took it back to garage who said there are so many errors codes they cannot do this test. How do I know if I change ECU the rest of the system is fine.

The airbag warning light can normally be reset by putting the car onto a diagnostics machine. Its usually triggered by the conectors under the seat being disturbed. I'd take it to an Alfa specialist if I were you, and see what they think.

If you can't find an Alfa specialist, any auto-electrician should be able to reset it; I paid about £10. Might be worth asking them to go through the error codes as well at the sme time, as it sounds like your garage does not have the right fault reader.

Tell us where you are and I'll see if I can arrange a time to sort it for you... Taunton/Wolverhampton/Telford areas are a bonus.
