Servicing 145 1.6L

I am looking into getting a older 145, and i was wondering about the cost of servicing the car.

In particular i wanted to know about the 60,000 mile service. Does anybody know how much this would cost (aprox).

Thanks in advance.

Cambelts need changing around then, a bit pricey. Other than that, if the car has a f.s.h, then nothing major. You'll probably find a car that has had the belts changed, many owners get it done early. And you may find the service has been done. But I would estimate a couple hundred quid, major probs aside. Go to a specialist, not main dealer. It may be too pricey in relation to the value of the car. What year BTW?
Probably better off going for a 1.8, more refined I would have thought. Hardly much price difference. Not seen many 1.6's at all!

The 145 1.6L is a Boxer engine.
Belts should be changed every 48,000 miles.
Mine cost me IR£120.
I'll check the service schedule for you & post the 60,000 miles service items.

My reason for getting the 1.6 is one of insurance. Unfortunatly i have been foolish enough to have two claims against me in the last 5 years, and being only 21 im classed as a bit of an insurance risk!

At the moment im still looking, but it will most probably be either an M or N, i should be having a look at the one i have found this weekend, which only has 54000 miles on it.

Thanks in advance Toad.

Have you received ins quotes? Under 25s tend to get loaded heavily for ins on alfas, having claims doesnt help.Good luck.

As promised.
60K Service , seems to be a minor one.
Oil & filter change
Check Lambda sensor
Check Gear/clutch fluid's.

And that is all that's listed.
The 48K Service is a big one so make sure that one was done. It lists the following work to be done
Engine oil and filter
Check condition timing drive belts
replace timing drive belt boxer
Check condition and tension poly v drive belts
Change air filter
Change fuel filter
Replace spark plugs
Check brake/clutch fluid level
Check gearbox and diff oil level
Check boots:axle shafts
power steering and steering joint caps
Check brake pipe tightness
Check handbrake travel
power steering oil level

2x 145 3x 75 4x Sprint... now a 156, When will the addiction end ???

Thats why ive been looking at the original 1.6's. They are only group 9, My Old Peugeot 205 1.8 Diesel was group 8, so i think its quite a good deal.

The quote i've had isn't that bad considering my claims, just over £1000 tpft.

Thanks Toad, i'm going to ring the garage to find out more about it now, hopefully its had the 48K service.
