Not impressed with AF these days

my insurance through af has come up for renewal again and once again the premiums have gone up even though my ncb has gone up. Got a limited mileage policy and just did a search through a compare website and can get it a fair bit cheaper on an non- limited mileage (normal) policy.
AF used to be competitive but these last 2 years have really disappointed me

Update, had a call and renewed quote from AF, still not quite as cheap as alternative but in the ballpark so relatively happy to stay with for the moment. However I am impressed with the response, jumping on the issue quickly and making an effort to keep a customer, it seems a few people arent having much joy with af recently but so far my dealings have been good.

I wasn't getting any reductions on screen scraper quotes when I called.

AF do have some attractive looking women in their adverts in the specialist press though.

Adrian Flux treated me like I was an inconvenience when I wanted quotes. At the time i was checking the market for what was available and I was trying to establish which car I would buy. Consequently I wanted quotes for different models to assess the most economical to buy/ run/ insure.
The guy there was a true "hooray Henry" and when I explained that I did not yet have the car he seemed like he was utterly irritated that he was not going to immediately get his commission.
At first he tried to fob me off by asking me to get back to him for "the best quote" once I had bought the car. Only when I insisted did he reluctantly provide me with quotes.

Then I spoke to Footman James. What a difference.
The girl there was a dream to talk to. Helpful, nothing too much trouble and patient with me as I asked for two litr quotes, three litre quotes, then different combinations of models and ages.

But the crux of the matter is they were SO much cheaper than Adrian Flux.

The fact of the matter is that the guy from Adrian Flux was such a little sh*t that I will never ring them again. Footman James will always get my money because they did exactly what all these rich insurance companies ought to do. They treated me like an individual, they helped, went the extra mile and they were competitive. That's what all rich insurance companies should do, but just like Adrian Flux so few of them actually do.

The old saying is that banks and insurance companies will sell you an umbrella when the sun is shining but ask for it back when it begins to rain. I despise having to pay the ridiculous rates that car insurers charge these days but Footman James made the pain less by charging me less and treating me well. Top marks!
