If you have whine get it fixed as I'm sure that on the morning my belt went bang, water pump failure, I am sure I heard a brief whine when I started up. I know that two plus two don't always make four BUT are you up for the consequences?
No - exactly.
Whining is caused by over working bearings in tensioners and jockey rollers. This will cause them to fail. My wife knows this to her cost on her Corsa.
