German cars a wonderfully engineered and are very good cars, but are plain and boring like the Germans, italian cars have plenty of character, and the passion of the italians is embodied in their cars.
Being from Japan, I don't know about the first part of your statement, but I agree with the second part - that BMWs are wonderfully engineered, but lack the passion and sense of style of the Italian cars.
All my life I have chosen performance over style (M3, Impreza Sti, Toyota Celica GT Rally, Datsun 240 Z, etc) - if my budget wouldn't permit having both, then performance always came first. One of the reasons I am so crazy about my GTA is that for the first time in my life I have BOTH! I now have a car that looks as good as it goes (if not better!).
