My wife and me purchased a 2007 147 150hp a couple of months ago.
At first, it didn't have any boost until 3000+ rpm. I traced it down to a problem in the variable geometry control valve and I exchanged it. It produced a huge improvement and now the turbo produces boost from <2000 rpm and you can hear it in fact.
But from the start it also had a weird problem: the engine shakes when submitted to load for the first time in a trip (accelerating 3rd, 4th, 5th gear at 40-50 mph, for example). Then it stops doing so. It also produces black smoke when it does so (and a bit whenever I accelerate at any time).
There used to be an EGR valve low flow error but after I cleaned the MAP and the EGR it didn't appear again.
Blocking the EGR didn't produce any improvements when I didn't have changed the valve yet, maybe now...
The car pulls but not as expected, say it has 90 hp or less. The engine is a bit noisy too, specially under load.
Any ideas?
