Can anyone tell me where this hole leads to on my 2004 Alfa 147 1.6, i think i have accidentally dropped a bolt into it as I can't find it anywhere didn't realise there was a hole there until i started hoking about looking for it..
I have and it looked and I'm pretty sure that's where it has went, is there anyway to get it out, apologies for all the questions as I'm not really in the know about engines ect... Cheers
then if your lucky and get a telescopic magnet picup tool, and its dropped to the bottom you might be able to fish it out from the gap between the sump and the gearbox.
Might be fun .. that's the gearbox bell-housing where the clutch is .. might not be much room for a magnet and it is likely to get stuck to the the clutch cover in preference to a bolt.
A very big job, I'm afraid - equivalent to doing the clutch replacement - and in fact you might as well replace the clutch while the gearbox is out....
You could be lucky and it won't cause any problem in there....depends how big a bolt it is, I guess.....
