156 1.8 ts loss of revs and then 'go to dealership' warning

So, driving along normally, there seems to be a loss of power, or lack of acceleration and then the alarms ring and the obligatory 'go to dealership' warning.

On previous non-Alfa motors I've had, when this type of loss of power its usually been the fuel injectors.

Googling and ebaying away, I can't seem to find any fuel injectors for the 1.8 TS 2002.

Anybody care to make a prognosis as to what it could be, or if it is F.I.'s were to shop them?

156 1.6 ts lack of power

Hi,

I have a similar problem on my car, Alfa Romeo SportWagon 1.6 ts, year 2001/12.
On some Hills have to put first gear !!!!

Have a friend that have a diagnose machine, no error found, but we can see three things :

- the car only go to 72% of engine load , tested in a hill
- 197 KG/h ( air flow ? ) maximum (434.31 pounds/hour ) is this ok ?
- The speedometer says that i have done 140.315 km and the diagnose machine says 135.000 km ( we tested with other machine and the result was the same.)

I have unplugged the maf and go worst, try another one from an opel car and problem persist.

The spark plugs are new, bought on The Alfa Workshop, specialist Alfa Romeo garage and web resource, the cam belt is changed to, only the battery is almost dead.

My battery was crap too. Had to give it a full charge at least once a week so bought a new one.

Still had the problem so took the coil packs off and noticed there was oil in one of the spark plug tubes. Cleaned it out and the problem went away from about 60km.

Then the warning came on twice and went away. In another thread on here, got advised that the coil pack was probably damaged due to the oil seeping through, so just about to order a recon'd one from AutoLusso's ebay shop.

Hopefully this will stop the error and restore, but then I've got the problem of oil seeping into one of the tubes. I did notice that one of the seals around the coil was snapped. I'm hoping that the recon'd comes with none snapped ones.

Fingers crossed there is not a crack in the tube that is leaking or somewhere.
