Re: I test drove a GTA too...
Hi,
The matter of the trade in was complicated by the a low interest rate, the need for new tyres and rego running out in early September. My car is a September 2001 model, the only option is Momo leather, standard in all other respects and it is standard. I was offered the GTA for $59,000 drive away with 12 months registration. A new car with the same spec would be around $70,000. I'm changing over at $36,000, which was around $2000 more than my limit, but the 5.95% interest rate brought the repayments down to an acceptable level. So while the trade was lower than I thought, I'm ending up where I wanted to be, if that makes sense. But I suppose based on the original purchase price of the 147 in 2001 of $41,500 it still represents depreciation much better than the earlier Alfas and probably better than a Ford or Holden. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Thanks for all the good wishes. I'm really looking forward to picking it up on Tuesday. I'll be taking it to Oran Park on 4th July to join the Alfa parade at the AROCA supersprint.
