Take the plastic cover off, just hold the corners and give it a yank.
The egr is the black and aluminium unit to the top right of the engine block as you stand in front of the car.
Unclip the electric connector, then you will have to move the rubber pipe running along the top of the engine as this blocks access to some of the bolts.
The bolts are pretty accessible all round. Just take care when undoing the lower ones to release the return pipe as the gasket needs to come off and might just fall away, as mine did!
