Hi Guys On occasion when opening the front doors of my 156(both passanger and drivers side) the button has stuck in so the door cannot be closed. any ideas on what to and where to lubricate to stop this happening any more. And what with. Thanks
this happens to a lot more in the winter i just spay the handle with some silicone spray but dont use wd40 as this can cause all the gubbings inside the handle to rust
Take off inner door panels, reach in to the lock from the inside while pressing the button and you'll feel the moving parts, you won't get a can of wd40 in very close so just aim and spray. When pressing button after spraying you might get some escaping on the outside of the door so keep rag handy.
wd40 is a water dispersant. thats what the wd stands for so it is highly unlikely to make anything rust.
and for the record i used wd40 on mine. worked a treat.
