My feeling is they have lost all the mechanics who knew anything about the older Alfa's.
As for the newer one's JJB in York are getting a good reputation and one of the ex Kershaw guys who knew a bit about the older ones has set up near Selby, though I know nothing of his abilities.
Kershaws never recovered from the fire which destroyed three quarters of the repair shop most of the specialist Alfa tools along with a few valuable cars. When Peter retired about six months later he was the last of the old school mechanics. I rang them up and asked how much to swap a gearbox on my 1750, they hadn't a clue, never done one before
