Do you intend to learn at the same time?
Else this becomes a waste of time and potentally damageing to children , i have personal experience of children of English speaking welsh people ( ie most of us in south wales ) and even a couple from Yorkshire who send their kids to welsh medium schools for 'asperational' reason ie they presume the school will have smaller classes and this will be benificial for them
BUT they don't speak any welsh which means in most subjects they are buggered with helping kids with homework etc and they are much further behind in important subjects such as science and technology
If you end up with a bi-lingual partner ( and by that i do mean frst langauge welsh not first language english went to a welsh school )and you intend to learn alongside then i applaud the sentiment
else think very carefully and encourage the child to learn welsh throughout school as they would learn French and trust me they do do a hell of lot more welsh in english medium primary now across S-wales than they used to.
But don't potentily disadvantge him/her because of a fully justified sense of patriotism
