More on the Ferrari con-rod failures from an interview with Stefano Domenicali to the Gazzetta dello Sport:
1. The Austrian company making the con-rods has been given a roasting

(my interpration)
2. The two con-rods were one after the other in a batch of 100 (eg. number 4 and number 5)
3. Both failures incurred in non-stressed parts of the con-rods, indicating a problem with the materials used.
4. Massa's engine blew up after 932km, Kimi's after 968km.
5. More people have been dedicated to the quality control for third party parts.
And last but not least, when asked if Kimi would support Massa in case the latter was fighting for the championship, the answer was a resounding yes.
