Autolusso have rebuilt the gearbox and fitted the Q2 in the process, hopefully it wont be to long till i get it back. i will ring the garage tomorrow and see how it is getting on. i am still not sure if he has got the new clutch yet. thanks for being so helpfull :-)
You're welcome mate, there are cracking independent garages out there (like AutoLusso) that do excellent work for decent prices. They know their Alfas better than any dealer does, unfortunately I just saw my local (only ~130 mile-ish round trip

) close down due to lack of business. I hate to see people paying over the odds to get their cars back on the roads again knowing myself how cheaply things can be done if you know where to go and who to speak to, so helping people out on here serves a dual goal of keeping alive the fab little indies we have and stopping people getting fleeced at the same time.
All I can ask is for you to do the same with any other Alfa owners you know on here or in real life, spread the word and all that
So anyway, hopefully thats the box sorted, cambelt next then you'll hopefully be sorted for another few years of motoring, now you have a reason to keep her
