Re: Off Roading?

I was a member of the AWDC for many years - from the age of 14 upwards. We organised and attended trials and speed events all over the UK and even went to France to take part in international events.

Off Roading during an organised event is governed by the rules and regulations set down by the MSA in the Blue Book. In addition countryside laws and local by-laws have to be respected. The events are extremely well orchestrated and if necessary the club would pay to set the land right after use.

They were also involved in Green Laning, but far from being the oiks in the Rangie brigade the club set about repairing large sections of previously unusable lanes for use as bridlepaths and walkways.

Generally speaking members of the club were well aware of the capabilities of their vehicles and rarely got stuck.

The problem, as usual, are the few oiks who have more money than sense, who don't know how to drive off road without tearing the ground up and think they are entitled to destroy large pieces of land willy-nilly.
