It seems that it depends on age, not model.

If your light has been on for two weeks, then I would say there either is still a fault, or yours doesn't reset. Get your head in the footwell and have a fiddle with the wires and connectors you can see - see if that helps.
By the way, when I did the fiddling, and then switched on straight afterwards, it seemed to have not worked. But then the next morning it had. So don't despair if it doesn't seem to have helped at first.
