I just left it for air con regas, will see if its going to work just now. But there is other problem - when im seting temperature to low the blowing air is always hotter then the air outside. I never had any problems with climate control in my other 166, so this is my new problem ;)

I've run my 166 3.0 for 7 years now and it's cost me £4,461 p.a. for depreciation and all running costs plus petrol which is £4,100 p.a. at today's prices for 21k miles p.a.
My car is 2000 reg but if were later and cost and extra £200 p.a. frankly I wouldn't give a damn! And I'll keep it until it dies.

It's great that you love your 166 so much Mike but if those figures are right, you could be driving around in a brand new 159 and be about a grand a year better off!! Makes no sense to me.

I got my T Plate 2.5 166 off Ebay to, paid a stupidly low amount for the car considering what it is mainly down to N/S door damage but have just bought another W Plate 2.5 with knackered block for even less so am going to use that for spares for mine, was contemplating swapping engines and having a newer 166 that stands me at nothing at all but is it worth all that chew?? There is more money to be made in selling car parts than there is selling whole cars which is sad but the market dictates prices so you have to go with the flow. If I had the space I would seriously think about breaking 1 car per week for parts and see where that gets me but at the min I'm just so busy with life in general and there ain't that many 166's anyway so for now I'll just make my car 100% again, strip the W plater down and flog the bits off to get some money back. Saying that being made redundant very soon so I might just give it a shot with my redundancy money + part prices from garages etc is ridiculose so if I can source enough bits and undercut the greedy beggers out there you never know. As it stands I have bought 2 166's in 3 weeks....no wonder the wife goes mental with me lol!

The problem with this is there are few parts from a second hand 166 you will ever need. The ICS is an obvious one but what else? Mirrors perhaps although they are quite reasonable new. Even the whole engine, you can have a second hand one fitted at a top specialist for a reasonable cost now. You see them on ebay all the time (esp the 156) people with garages full of bit no one wants.
