My 166 also ripped through tyres every 5000km. I found the tyre alignment people here in NZ didn't have a clue how to set up a Alfa. So I took it to the agents and they suggest 42PSI in the front tyres after the alignment. I'm running Goodyear Eagles and so far I've had 10,000km since the last alignment but they need new front tyres. My rear tyres have lasted 50,000. But the 166 is a heavy car and do wear more than others. Roll on the 169 I say.
