Firstly, its a free service, people are fine to complain about unfair negative comments, but it is such a valuable thing for the "negative-but-truthful" comments to come out from people who know the car's history but don't have an agenda (making money), if they don't think the car will stand up to possible criticism, then they can go on Autotrader, Ebay or Pistonheads.
I sold my car on here, I was honest about its condition and got nothing but positive comments on my for sale page, a few mutterings about the asking price but I tried my best to justify my asking price, and although I didn't quite get what I first asked for, the final figure was closer to my asking price than some of the prices people had said they would have been willing to pay.
If I had tried to hide something, the truth would have come out, and an AO member would have been protected from buying a dud.
Another thing, I saw a car advertised for sale today, but the guy hadn't mentioned how much he wanted for it, or the cars year of registration. If there was a facility to reply, I would have, to ask for the price & age, but I didn't bother because its too much hassle deleting a PM from my inbox so I can send one, all to help him sell his car.
