This was pretty common for the seventies - take one standard production car, which has had the benefit of millions of pounds worth of development and testing, rip it to pieces and clothe the running gear in an ugly party dress made of GRP. They could have made this a lot prettier, by keeping some semblance of Alfa identity at the front.
There were some really good kit cars in the seventies and eighties though. One which stands out, was a Ferrari P4 replica by Noble, which made use of a Renault twin turbocharged V6, and was finished to a very high standard.
