I stayed in Montmartre a couple of years ago. I went from the airport via taxi which gave me a good view en-route of all the cars with parking dents.
When I say all the cars I mean
ALL the cars! Not one was in good condition due to shunting and general abuse. I think this is what determines the car buying strategy in Paris - small 206/clio/Renault 5 that can be used and abused at will.
I'd certainly never drive my own car across the Arc de Triomphe roundabout but it's a great laugh in a cab! Highly recommended.
