Hello mate and welcome to AO! I'm sure some 147 owners will be along soon to telll you how the car is. I would say go for the 2.0 Twin spark engine if you can, it is a really fun engine with a great sound and loves to be revved. Just need to check it has had cam belt changed within last 36000 miles, and FSH is good. I had a 2.0 TS engine in my GTV.

Actually, you have way more than enough money for a phase 2 GTV with 2.0 twin spark engine, if I was you I'd get one of those provided the insurance is not too bad. You can blast around in those and still get 30mpg. The 147 should get even more - 40mpg I would guess.
