Porsche have spent the last 3 decades engineering 911's to perfection, honing them, manipulating them. Crafting the chassis to cope in all conditions, to handle ever increasing amounts of power. The 911 is their baby, the one the engineers go home and think about when they should be spending time with their families.
They have taken a flawed design, and stubbornly spent 30 years building and rebuilding a car that works around the engine position, refusing to admit that they were actually wrong to put it there in the first place.
