Well to be honest if it was my car - Id just find a custom exhaust builder and either have 'just' the box removed or have the whole section replaced with fresh stainless steel. The choice is yours

The exhaust builder I use has removed anumber of centre boxes for me over the years and he only charges £50 all in.
