Hmmm Oil Changes. Not as cheap as advertised.

Took a mate's Civic for an oil change yesterday.
The advertised price was 49 Euros inc oil
and filter.

They didn't have a Honda filter in stock, but
my mate had already bought one.

The actual price was 70 Euros.

"Why so?" I asked. "Shouldn't it be less
if you're not supplying the filter?"

They then went on to explain that the
advertised price was for "old" cars.
All "new" cars had to be hooked up
to the examiner.

This wasn't a service, just an oil change
by some Halfords equivalent here in France.
(Using an oil sucker.)

Anyone else experience something similar?
