The trouble with these cars they can be addictive and a restoration can cost a fortune. I have seen cars for as much as £4k for a fairly standard one, don't know if it sold for that though, I suspect not. The other thing affecting value is a rather small target audience, a Spider by comparison will appeal to many because of the open roof and the GTV, its coupe looks. I overheard someone saying about my car its was the ugliest car he had ever seen (I took it as a complement

).
Do it because you like the car and wish to have a sense of achievement in keeping it going and looking good and meeting like minded people, but it will not make you any money, probably the reverse.
Thanks for the advice

. I would restore it too keep not to make money. I really like the style of the car and its uniqueness, and I want to keep a bit of history alive. Any ideas on a rough full restoration and value after restoration?.
I basically am a bit apprehensive about spending Thousands then being told i can only insure it for £500 !
Can I set the value of the car with an insurer or do they get someone to value it for them ?
Oh I forgot to say there is a mint 75 on Ebay at the moment for £5995.00
