Re: GTA for £4500
Before the GTA - I drove a 156 2.5 V6 whilst I still had my 2.0 156 SP2 - Whilst the 2.5 was quicker, made a great sound - it was not as balanced and as much fun (to me) as the 2.0 that I had. When I tried the GTA - I was totally blown away - it's so different and special - once you have driven one you will understand why they should cost even more than £8k.
I do however fully understand what you mean about a six year car at £8k....
As we are seeing here and OA is demonstrating - he got his for a steal and was in the right time / place - however is now about to start spending on the car to get it just right That car will end up costing about £7k.
Now as we are using the OA GTA as a benchmark of how cheap a GTA can be.... what if the car was the same age, had only 30k on the clock, was perfect needed nothing doing, had 330's etc.... and was being sold for £7.5 - £8k. You could still purchase an AA warranty for piece of mind, and there really is not much in it.
Above £8k for 2002 GTA, I would expect it to come from a main dealer as new!
Now what else can you buy for the same age / money / exclusivity / prestige / spec.... in my mind only the BM 330i comes close and then they are not exactly exclusive!
