I say that mainly because I have one, and I want the prices to remain as high as possible!
But some points to say I'm not just pulling the figure out my ass:
Damian seems to have misunderstood the question, and is quoting the price the dealer would buy from you (which is rock bottom) not the price the dealer would sell to you (which is right at the top)
eBay is where you would expect to pay the absolute minimum it is possible to pay, from a private seller. It's going to be VERY different from a dealer price. Pistonheads is the same, although not to the same degree.
53 plates are worth more than just a years difference over 52 plates because of the brake upgrade, and general perceived better build quality over a new model car.
You're comparing saloon and sportwagon prices - don't. The sportwagon commands a premium due to its desirability and its scarcity - only 104 sold in this country.
Judging from Mitch's response, the actual price it's selling at is £10.5k - well there's your reduction due to fuel price etc.
By the way - I wouldn't expect dealer prices to start to drop yet because of the road tax increase next year. There isn't enough public knowledge of it yet. I'd bet any money that they're reducing what they'll buy cars for though!
